about
A requiem (sort of) commisioned by my good friend Gabriel Andersson.
Beginning with a melancholic theme, with a choir singing lyrics by Gabriel (in authentic latin), followed by a hopeful and positive second half, symbolising change for the better, and ending with a lullaby, the piece is very varied and has something for everyone.
This is a musical journey depicting the life of a young man who is born into darkness, but transforms himself into a being of light. It is also describing how one tiny cell in the dark depths of the oceans can grow and evolve into so many magnificent beings.
lyrics
Hora mortis sonata
Heu, hora beata
miserere mei, domine
pro mortuis ne lugeatis
(a hoc orbe tandem liberum)
me juvat quies
(cum creatore iterum conjunctum)
